Psychotherapy

Do you ever feel too overwhelmed to deal with your problems, your thoughts or your emotions? If so, you’re not alone.

According to latest research, more than a quarter than a quarter of adults in Western Europe experience depression, anxiety, or another mental disorder in any given year. Others struggle to cope with issues such as stress, relationship issues, sexual identity issues or worry about global issues and change.

WHAT IS PSYCHOTHERAPY?

A psychologist can help you work through such problems. Through psychotherapy, psychologists help people to live happier, healthier, and more productive lives.

In psychotherapy, the therapist will apply scientifically validated procedures to help people develop healthier, more effective ways of dealing with issues, thoughts and emotions.

Psychotherapy is a collaborative and empowering treatment based in dialogue and in developing a positive relationship between an individual and their therapist.

It provides a supportive environment that allows you to talk openly with someone who’s objective, neutral, and nonjudgmental.

The treatment method used by Jessica includes a mix of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and mindfulness. These techniques aim to address unhelpful behaviours that maintain your problems and free you from the thoughts and feelings that can get in the way of leading the best life you can.

The process is relatively short term. It varies in time for each person but typically lasts between 8 and 15 sessions whose aim is to provide you with the tools to be able to better cope on your own.

Towards a better life

It is normal to face struggles in life. But sometimes those struggles become too much. Our thoughts and feelings take over and we can’t seem to find ways to improve our situation or the way we feel. A professional therapist or counselor can give us the kindness, patience and tools to find our way back into the life we want to live.
